Hello, friends! Happy spring! Please join me in celebrating the earth getting its mojo working with this delightful cryptic by Jess Shulman. We love Jess's puzzles in these parts, which might be obvious since this is the fourth cryptic crossword she's written for us (as well as a number of puzzles for other AVCX branches). Jess writes:

These Puzzles Fund Abortion 5, a really great charity pack in support of reproductive rights, where you'll find a midi-sized cryptic by me, along with many other fantastic puzzles. In the early 1970s, my mom helped lead some of Canada's earliest abortion-rights campaigns and ultimately helped pave the way for the right to abortion that Canadians have held since 1988. It's tragic that this work needs to continue, but I'm very proud to help in the fight.
It is a great cause, and may I say I very much appreciate the progressive spirit of our northern neighbors in general. See you in two weeks, but until then -- elbows up!
