Puzzle Notes

Dearest Inkubator subscribers,

Fasten your seatbelts and start your engines! This week's offering is a high-octane construction by dynamic puzzlemaker Mary Lou Guizzo. We have rated this puzzle very challenging on the Inkubator scale.

Mary Lou Guizzo is a retired Blood Bank (SBB) technologist whose hobbies include hiking and swimming. Her puzzles have been published in the New York Times, the Orange County Register and the Chronicle of Higher Education. Her first puzzle appeared in print in 2013, and she was honored to be part of the 'Women of Letters' crossword project in 2018.

Some major life events in the last three years have cut into the time Mary Lou could devote to crosswords; she values this opportunity to get back into the crossword constructing world via the Inkubator, and the Inkubator celebrates her return. Welcome back, Mary Lou!

When you're done solving, check out Diary of a Crossword Fiend for a write-up and discussion, every Friday after an Inkubator puzzle is published. Next in the queue, on April 25, the Inkubator features a clever collaboration by savvy creators Sophia Maymudes and Maryam Hedayati.

Until then!
