Today's AVCX+ is a tough 68-word themeless by the one and only Ryan McCarty. It's titled "Prepare for Trouble" and we're calling its difficulty "a solid blue square slope" -- sharpen your pencils for this one.

Ryan McCarty has written dozens of puzzles for various publications over the past decade, most of them wide open themeless puzzles just like this one. When he's not busy being a dad to a young and energetic toddler, Ryan works in technology consulting and sings as a baritone in several D.C. vocal ensembles.
