Dear friends:We're delighted to bring you the penultimate Anna Harkins roster midi! This one's a themed 14x13 puzzle titled "Double Checks." It doesn't play as hard as some of Anna's previous Lil offerings, but we think you'll get a kick out of the funky grid shape and, of course, her eclectic clue-writing.
Anna says: "When I had the idea for this puzzle I foolishly thought that it would be a pretty simple one to make, which turned out to be very, very, very wrong. I went through so many different iterations and kept bouncing back and forth between my construction software (Ingrid) and a spreadsheet, and I'm happy I was able to get the fill to be both clean and sparkly.
I am very excited, even if it was just out of necessity, to put out a puzzle with a more freehand-y shape and construction process! I often freehand grids in a graph paper notebook I have or in the shared freehand spreadsheet in Crosscord, and it's super fun to just play around with words without the confines of symmetry or a grid shape."
