Puzzle Notes

Greetings, all -- we've made it to pre-autumn, that special time of year when it's still summer but Trader Joe's is filled with pumpkin spice-flavored everything and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has already been running at Disney World for almost a month. What better time to enjoy a cryptic by Will Nediger? (There is no "better" time because all times to enjoy a Will Nediger cryptic are equally good.)

Will Nediger (aka bewilderingly) is a Canadian constructor based in London (no, not that London). He mostly writes themed crosswords for his regular gigs, so he likes to let loose on his blog with giant themelesses. Oh yeah, he sometimes sets cryptics, too.
