We're back with a slightly more challenging (but equally as lovely) offering from puzzle icon Stella Zawistowski. From the constructor herself:

Although I'm no longer behind the proverbial editor's desk, I'm so glad to continue to work with AVCX to produce cryptics with a distinctly American bent. After spending much of the last six months trying and failing to solve the Financial Times cryptic every day, I have a better understanding than I used to of just how differently Americans and Brits play with our common language. So IMO anything that puts out more American cryptic energy into the world is good!
