Puzzle Notes

Dear Friends:

What's the point of a really easy question? An easy question is a welcoming host. It invites you in, takes your coat, asks if you'd like a drink, and introduces you to a few other questions. You've now got some confidence to mingle with the rest of the quiz. An easy question is the corner piece of a jigsaw puzzle. You may not see what's happening in the larger puzzle yet, but you know this goes right here. Now you can build off of it.

We think there's a place in almost every trivia puzzle for an easy question (or two or three).

Now, what makes a question easy? And, what makes an easy question enjoyable? Well, those are harder questions...maybe another time.

Trivia Puzzle #8

Today's puzzle is from Peter Gwinn. He's been here a few times before, most recently back on September 21st. Do you remember?

Peter is an Emmy-award winning comedian and writer, currently writing for NPR's "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me." He and his wife also write about doing escape rooms with your kids. Peter says, "I love when, in the course of researching a trivia question, I myself learn new trivia! I didn't know that [person in question 5] was already famous, and I didn't know about the limitation in question 4. I hope you also find these things interesting!"
