Puzzle Notes

Dear solvers,

We've got some bite-sized treats for you, with minis from George Ho, Dob Olino, and the editing team. We hope you'll find these puzzles tasty and accessible!

George is a word lover and data scientist who lives on an island off the coast of the US. He maintains a database of cryptic crossword clues: cryptics.georgeho.org. Recently he's been practicing making omelets -- he'll move on to omurice one day.

We've seen some fun standard American-style crosswords from Dob Olino, and he's making his AVCX cryptic debut with a 5x7 mini. Dob says, "Check out more of my cryptics (and American-style puzzles) at Crossweird, thanks!"

As an extra challenge when you've solved the editors' mini: Each of us (Francis, Nate, Steve, and Stella) created two clues for this puzzle. Can you guess who made each clue?
