Puzzle Notes

Dear Friends:

Before we get into the puzzle for the week, I'm doing a brief survey to establish what format people tend to use when they solve the trivia puzzle. As you may or may not know, in every AVCX trivia email we include three ways to view the questions for the week: one attached pdf that contains just the questions, one attached pdf that contains both the questions and the solutions, and one button which will take you to a Google form where you can view the questions, submit your official answers, and then view the solutions after the fact. This has been working all right for us, but sending out three formats every week is becoming a bit unwieldy and we're looking for a way to cut out one or more of these formats. In order to make that decision, though, I want to see how you're solving your puzzles. So if you have time, please fill out this very brief survey!

Now onto the trivia! This week we have a puzzle coming to you from Olivia Mitra Framke (@Livienna on Twitter and Bluesky). Olivia is a higher education professional living in Jersey City with her sweet baby boy dachshund/croissant mix Charlie. Mentored by the late great Nancy Salomon, Olivia began constructing crosswords in 2016 and now edits them as well. In 2024, she is thrilled to be a part of the leadership team for Lil AVC X. A lover of Star Wars and games of all kinds, Olivia is a proud nerd, writer, and self-proclaimed aspiring mermaid.
