Just a note about a friend of the AVCX, Hayley Gold, who creates a crossword-themed web comic. On Sunday, September 13th, Hayley will debut a new format for her site (acrossanddown.net), as a result of no longer having early access to the New York Times puzzles to create her comics. From now on, each Sunday at 6:00 pm ET she'll post a comic on one of the past weeks New York Times puzzles (the comic will mention and link to the appropriate puzzle). She'll do this for a few weeks and then will continue contingent on feedback, which you can give her at kakumei@verizon.net. Hayley encourages anyone who enjoys the comics to subscribe (for free) to get exclusive teasers for each comic, early posting notifications, and other insider news. If you are new to the comic, check out its Facebook page.
