Dear friends:

We've got for you today a Lil AVC X debut from Jess Shulman. It's called "What a Pest!", but don't let the title fool you: this 11x11 puzzle is cozy and warm like a nice bedtime story.

Jess is a freelance writer and editor in Toronto. When she's not crosswording, Jess is often busy chauffeuring her two teenaged kids around, but she also makes time for singing in a casual cover band, keeping fit, reading, and, as of last month, trying to learn the banjo.

Jess says: "I'm thrilled to be part of the Lil AVCX editorial team this year! The subject of this puzzle is near and dear to my heart, and I hope it'll give some of you some warm, nostalgic fuzzies too."
