Puzzle Notes

Hi all,

Our last cryptic of the year comes to us from Katherine Bryant, who also had a fun puzzle with us back in March. We think you'll enjoy this one just as much and hope it brings you joy as we head into the new year! From the constructor:

Katherine's still a novice at publishing cryptics, but she's not new to the puzzle world, having been a member of the NPL for 25 years (including editing The Enigma for four years) and once upon a time an ACPT competitor. She's in the midst of a midlife career change and is just finishing her first semester as a full-time master's student in genetic counseling. She lives in Massachusetts with her cat Winnie.
