Puzzle Notes

Hi friends: 

Brendan Emmett Quigley brings us "Deep Cuts" this week, at 4/5 difficulty. We hashed this one out on a late-afternoon phone call during which I was walking on the beach, which is how I want all editorial conversations to go henceforth.

Erik Agard is coming up next week with a slightly easier one.
