Puzzle Notes

Dear friends,

It's themeless week at Classic -- this is our 73rd -- and proud to have it come from two old friends, Brooke Husic and Neville Fogarty. It's 5/5 difficulty, so perhaps it can keep you busy throughout the break.

Brooke and Neville both love Fibonacci numbers, misleading double definition cryptic clues, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. This puzzle started when Neville came to Brooke with his epic 1-Across clue and formed throughout several video call gridding sessions over many months. They couldn't be more delighted to have it run at AVCX, where all their tricky cluing angles were retained and the editing preserved their voices. They hope you leave this puzzle feeling any of the following: hungry, lustful, and/or excited to watch movies from 1949, 1997, and 2019.
