Celebrating AVCX+'s 50th puzzle(!) with a doozy of a themeless by Ryan McCarty: a chasmic 62-worder aptly titled "Mind the Gap". Ryan says this puzzle is "like hiking the Grand Canyon" -- so get ready for a challenging workout, but pause to enjoy the beautiful views along the way.
Ryan has written dozens of crossword puzzles for various publications including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and AVCX. He runs an indie crossword blog, McGrids, on-and-off featuring mostly challenging themeless puzzles. In his free time, Ryan also sings as a baritone in several vocal ensembles and writes choral music. His Bacon number is 2.
