Dear solvers,

Reportedly cut duo (4) -- it's a PAIR bringing you this week's cryptic! What PAIR, you ask? It's JonMichael Rasmus and Sean Weitner with their AVCX debut.

JonMichael and Sean started publishing cryptic crosswords after 30 years of puzzling friendship, including co-designing board games (most recently published: Double Feature). Their variety cryptic website is The Rackenfracker, and their cryptics have also appeared in Out of Left Field. Both settled in the Madison, Wisconsin, area with their families; Sean even lived three blocks from the original AV Club.
