Dear Friends:Today's AVCX+ is a 72-word themeless by Shannon Rapp and Will Eisenberg, titled "Applause!" We think it's a fun romp that you should tackle immediately. And difficulty-wise, we think it's not so hard that you should put off solving it.
Will (@TlMBERWOLVES) is a French horn player and music teacher in the Twin Cities. He is the current 3rd horn of Orchestra Iowa and a founding member of the Minnesota Horn Quartet. More of his puzzles can be found on the blog Half-Baked Puzzles.
Shannon (@sharpenorah) is a research administrator at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, as well as a mom to two cats and one middle-schooler. She started making crosswords in 2020 and began writing puzzles for her blog in early 2021. She has since written puzzles for AVCX+, Lil AVCX, Crucinova, The Los Angeles Times, The Inkubator, and Universal. She also writes for Daily Crossword Links and Diary of a Crossword Fiend. You can probably find her at the next tournament, talking up indie puzzles to anyone who will listen and trying desperately not to finish in last place.
Will and Shannon are frequent collaborators who also co-wrote a puzzle for the upcoming charity pack These Puzzl3s Fund Abortion, which also features puzzles from many AVCX constructors, editors, and friends.
