Puzzle Notes

Dear solvers,

First things first: Due to the various exigencies of your editors' schedules, the previously announced Brendan Emmett Quigley puzzle will be arriving in your inboxes on March 16. Instead, we're delighted to once again bring you a cryptic from someone who's been an active member of the puzzling community for years, but who's a fresh voice as a constructor. We couldn't be happier to be publishing Katherine Bryant, AKA Saxikath of the National Puzzlers' League!

Katherine's just starting to get into publishing cryptics, but she's not new to the puzzle world, having been a member of the NPL for 25 years (including editing The Enigma for four years) and once upon a time an ACPT competitor. These days she is trying to go back to school for a radical midlife career change, and in the meanwhile is a freelance editor (she's available!). She lives in Massachusetts with the world's best tabby cat.
