Puzzle Notes

Dear Friends:

Happy 2023! We hope you enjoyed your 2022, and we especially hope you enjoyed your first year of solving the AVCXpansion content. We on the trivia staff had the pleasure of working with so many amazing trivia writers over the course of the year, and while we look forward to continuing the great work in the months and years to come, we wanted to find some way to cap off 2022 in a way that paid tribute to all the awesome puzzles that you made along the way.

So, we spent the last few weeks coming up with a championship puzzle. Each of the nine questions in this puzzle fits in with one theme from the previous year. This quiz is going to play a little bit tougher than some of the previous ones, so we're making it an "open notes" test. This doesn't change anything about the Googling rules, but it does mean that you are welcome to look over any of the previous puzzles and solutions from the last year. Also, to hopefully help you in your solving, we've arranged the questions on this quiz in the order that we published the original puzzles. Hopefully that gives you an extra constraint that makes the solve a little bit more doable.

Everyone is welcome to solve and submit your answers to this puzzle, BUT, if you are a previously-selected AVCX All Questions Correct Answer Getter, your submission will be automatically entered in a bonus contest! We will pick *one* person from this pool who either gets all the questions correct or more questions correct than any other winner, and we'll give that person a special *bonus prize.* What the prize is is a secret (largely because we're still figuring out what it's going to be...) but suffice it to say that it'll be puzzle-y and awesome and, most importantly, cheap. Submit your answers by Jan 25th if you want to be entered!
