Puzzle Notes
Dear Friends:
If you're a fan of Jeopardy!, and especially if you're a fan of the analytical elements of the gameplay, there's a new site for you. Board Control was built by a data scientist and Jeopardy! champion, and includes win probability, player ratings, matchup forecasts, and excitement rankings for every game.
And for anyone wondering, we did get a comment from a reader who has attended the Stevens Point trivia we referenced in our previous email. He said, "I've been going to Stevens Point trivia almost every year since a college friend invited me in about '89. They asked the name tag of the police officer Bill Murray talks to in a blizzard in Groundhog Day, and I said 'Are you kidding me?' and haven't stopped going since. I highly recommend it!"

Trivia Puzzle #8
Today's puzzle is from Graham Rosby. Graham is an educator from Chicago who writes problems for traditional outlets like the journal Mathematics Teacher, and not-so-traditional outlets like the Wrigley Field jumbotron. He runs the high school program for Math Circles of Chicago, committed to cultivating lifelong curiosity and joy in learning spaces, particularly in neighborhoods and for students who have been historically underserved by STEM education.
He is looking forward to his first proper vacation with his wife, a CPS teacher, and son, a future CPS student, this summer.
This one is seven questions, and with appearances by Jimmy Cliff, Tony Soprano, and Gen Z slang, it crosses a few different generational boundaries. Enjoy!
Until next time,
