Subject line: Lil AVC X, April 8, 2024, 2024, by Katja Brinck Dear friends:Today we're bringing you an 11x11 midi by roster member Katja Brinck, titled "Eclipse." It's a playful puzzle with a timely theme and packed full of bonus theme-adjacent content.
Katja says: "When I realized this puzzle was scheduled for an April 8 date, I knew that I had to find an eclipse angle. This is the first time since 2015 that I wasn't going to be attending the ACPT (with the exception of the pandemic years of course), but I have a good reason - as this puzzle drops, I'll be traveling in Vermont with my family with plans to see the eclipse on the afternoon of April 8. The next total solar eclipse in North America won't happen again for another 20 years, so it seemed like this was a great opportunity. My original idea of grid art to visually depict an eclipse didn't end up really working - as my mentor commented, it's very hard to make circles out of squares! But I hope solvers enjoy this puzzle and have fun with all the eclipse and space stuff I attempted to put into it. Now I just have to hope the weather in the northeast cooperates. Happy solving!"
