This week's puzzle is a debut from someone named ... [/checks notes] Idema I. O'Clue. It's a 21x21 called "Totally Normal AVCX Themeless #1," at 3.5/5 difficulty. Hmm ...
In fact, this week's guest constructor seems to be covering something up. Say, has anyone checked on the other AVCX constructors lately? (They're all listed on avxwords.com). Anyway, happy solving!
Annual Tip Request
Once a year, the AVCX asks solvers for tips, if you're able. 80% of tip money is divided pro rata among constructors who made weekly puzzles in 2020. 10% goes to the editor, and 10% goes to the company. Click here to leave a tip in any amount for the people who make your puzzles.
The AVCX is a worker-driven company, meaning that we're financially structured so that the people who make the good content get paid first and equitably.
The AVCX is also inclusive. Of this year's puzzles, 47% had bylines that included women or non-binary constructors, and (though we don't keep data here) we've also prioritized running work by non-white constructors. We ran several debuts and puzzles by new constructors, and put a lot of work into mentoring.
We do this because we like it, and because it's a source of community and good feeling in a generally relentless world. We thank you for your support, for your kind communications, and for solving our stuff. Thanks for considering a tip.
