Dear friends:

We're excited to share this delightful 11x11 puzzle by new Lil roster member Ben Wilson, entitled "Stack of Pun-Cakes." We hope you'll be as tickled by this first peek into Ben's sneaky wordplay mind as we are.

Ben Wilson (he/him) is a constructor based in the UK who is new to the crossword scene, but comes from the world of making video games (the two of which share a surprising amount in common!). When he's away from the desk he's a hobbyist potter, a keen baker, and an uncle to the world's greatest niece. You can find more of Ben's crosswords at www.zerofiftyone.net.

Ben says: "The type of clue that I find the most joy in writing at the moment is the punny misdirect. As a solver, getting the answer to a good question-mark-style clue feels like a mix of solving a riddle and reaching the punchline of a joke. And because I love nothing more than to fill the things I make with stuff that makes me laugh, it just made sense to really foreground this style of clue in my Lil AVCX debut."
